Car Veering To The Left

Hi all.

My car has started to veer to the left, quite a lot I feel. I want to start off by getting the tracking done.

I am based in west London should I go to Land Rover to get it done or does anyone know who can do a proper job on it?

Advice, as always appreciated.

Thanks.

Have you checked tyre pressures?

Hit any kerbs recently to knock geometry out?

While you are checking for worn bushes check for play at the inner and outer ends of both front track rods. I found that even quite a small amount of play on the inner ends of the track rods made my car feel like it was pulling noticeably to the left.

Also worth swapping front tyres side to side to see if fault moves.

+1 for tyre pressures, thought I had a tracking problem on mine at the weekend, but the NSF was down 6psi & it was enough to make quite a difference. I'm just hoping now I haven't got a slow leak.

Hi.

Thanks for the advice guys.

I have topped up tyre pressure to 45psi all round. Not much loos of pressure in all tyres since I got them.

Car still veers to the left.

What step should I go to next?

Thanks.

Hi guys.

Ok so the car still veers to the left. Tyres have been heckled and are all even (inflated to 45psi, if that's too much please let me know what pressure is good).

Could someone give me a list of what to check/what could cause this issue please.

I already had tracking done by some random garage but wasn't happy because soon after I had my service and they told me the steering rack needs replacing as there is a leak. There is some oil mark around the gait or which I believe wasn't there before the tracking bit I can't prove anything and didn't bother harassing the garage. My mechanic told me I don't need to change the steering rack.

I'd like to get this sorted as I don't want my tyres to start wearing too quick.

Help appreciated.

45psi is way too high for front tyres. The correct pressures will depend on tyre size and load, but will be closer to 34psi I think. There should be a data sticker on the drivers door which gives the correct pressures etc.

My tyres are 275/45/20.
What would be best psi on fronts and backs?

Thanks.

Get it tracked by someone who knows what they are doing and see if that sorts your wandering problems. It needs to be 4 wheel tracking. The last time I got mine tracked the two front tyres were slightly wearing on the outside, the only thing "out" on the tracking was camber on one back wheel, yet that sorted the uneven wear.

When you say the car has "started" to veer to the left, what happened before if anything? Was any work done on it prior to it veering etc etc?

Hi guys.

Do the car is still veering quite badly to the left. I have it booked in for a wheel alignment at land rover this Thursday (they are doing it half price).

Now I got my iid tool I was playing around and I got some reading that I quite didn't understand but made me think; is it possible that if the suspension is higher or lower on one side that can cause the car to pull/veer?

My both left tyres are starting to wear on the outer edge.

Here's some pics from the tool.

I was going to do a guided calibration of the height but as I had little time didn't want to rush it.

had that myself, tyre pressure was low and it would wander all over the place on the motorway

note to self, must check simple things first

oh Censored , better remove the simple thing behind the wheel first, me
