3-5 second ringing tone on startup and igniton key removal

Well took "Ollie" the V8 on the road today and greeted with ringing tone on startup and the same after the key has been removed from the igniton barrel. About a 1 second delay before the noise starts. No dash warnings.

I thought it was an over generous warning in regards to the temparture but alas it appears not to be.

I've undertaken an search but uncovered zilch.

The noise is like a constant ringing tone, annoying loud, about 3 to 5 second long and seems to be coming from the drivers door speaker or under the "dash". Any help much appreciated. Bow down Bow down

Regards

Paul

Found the issue. PassTime GPS device..... FFS. Censored Apparently a warning tone to pay your car finance (previous owner). Device was under the steering column.

Slowly coming to terms with buying an 11year old car!

I had to google that, Love the delinquency statement Mr. Green

PassTime TRAX is our low cost Auto Dealer GPS tracking device for BHPH and auto finance companies. This low cost BHPH Automated Collection Technology GPS provides auto loan security and delinquency management for companies that frequently sell to customers with bad credit. The product can be installed by the dealer or through our national installation service.

I assume its credit free!

I had a long conversation with the PassTime UK company last night (24/7) and they have given me a 90day code (no more noise) and organising a removal (so I've refitted it).

Its fortunate that they are only down the road from me.

Apparently the next noise is a police siren prior to the vehicle being imoblised.

Credit free but thinking about taking out an fuel card Rolling with laughter . Not too bad on a run 22-26 but 9 to 12 around town. A real jekyll and hyde (sports mode).
