Well it is with a heavy heart Im thinking about parting ways with my love of my life my D3
It (as most of them are) has been a labour of love.
I bought her a little over a year ago after seeing loads and went for the shiniest one i could afford.
after the master cylinder going on my way home I sat waiting for a tow truck planning my mods so as soon as I got it back I went after the black on black look.
Starting small I bought black handle covers, grills, indicators and lettering to go on my black beauty.
She was already tinted so that was a good start.
Side steps to protect her in the carpark
Lovely new 20 inch RR alloys.
LED upgrade lights front and interior
Remap -for efficiency honest
Then the investment started....
A wierd whistle in the engine ended up with 2 days in the indie to find that it was a loose mounting nut (so I'm told but it stopped whistling so all good)
New Clutch and the works
New terrain response console
Lower suspension arms
New battery
New discs and pads on rear (turns out the dealer had neglected to connect sensors when i bought)
all in a little over 12 months.
My work has changed so its now time to consider a change of vehicle for something a little smaller / efficient. The dilemma is as much as a I should sell every time I look for something different it doesn't have the same appeal.
Any advice is appreciated but mainly I just wanted to voice to people who would appreciate the love hate of a disco. A complete newbie.

Keep, should be ok now on fuel with a remap and hopefully all the big bills away for a while. To keep costs down you just need to get your hands dirty and stop modding for a while!!!!!!! Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Don't change it until you find something that you like as much as the D3, or it'll only make you miserable every time you see one on the road
All the time you're looking (which could be a very long time), you get to keep the D3 and you can still convince yourself that you're being proactive about doing the sensible thing 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as โsecondโ cars ๐
2021 to date: Hinckley built โ14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built โ14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!
(One of only two known to exist in the world!)
