Nope, don't think it warrants a sticky, just search for the 'D' word of you want to know such things, there's a bunch of similar threads on here and a load of sites dedicated to it too out there on that that Internet thang. Should really be in Off Topic as it's definitely not D3 specific The End

Doesn't require sticking in this Tips & Tricks forum unless it is a particularly good tip or trick - see brake pads, alarm horn and oil change for more details examples 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

In a popular opinion poll (run on this site!) more people wanted to have a cleaning/car care/detailing section than those that didn't....... Bodsys Brake Bible

Well animosity is obviously your strong point!
Seems to me that if someone has something to say, you obviously feel you want to disagree.
Oh well you must be more important than me so I best keep quiet then.

Woah-woah-woah hang on guys, let's not get personal...
I've taken the decision that currently there doesn't appear to be the level of interest in car care to demand an entirely separate forum.
Obviously threads on the topic of car care/detailing/washing/whatever you call it in the existing appropriate forum areas are more than welcomed, DISCO3 actively encourages discussion about all aspects of D3 ownership.
If there end up being hundreds of car care threads then I will re-evaluate the situation, but at the minute for sake of tidiness I don't see the need for another specialised forum, the topics can be "housed" elsewhere quite happily 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

Think what you like though I don't know why you get that idea Do you think I should just shut up and not voice my opinion?
There are plenty of sites that deal with cleaning your car and plenty of posts about it on here too. This site is dedicated to the Discovery 3, car cleaning is generic and no way specific to the D3, if it had special paint and could only be cleaned it a certain way then it would be specific to the vehicle and would probably merit a section of it's own or a sticky but it doesn't so I see no need to car cleaning put on a pedestal The End

I think this cleaning lark is over rated my self (my dealer does mine every service and warranty call ) especially at this level... but hey ! It takes all sorts to make this forum the great place it is.

errrr Navigation.........
Generic topic, but specific section....... 18 topics posted
Perhaps JKP, C6rews, Wiggs and I can come up with a definitive post to cover as much about cleaning your D3 as possible & then making that a sticky in the maintenance & modifications section. It IS about maintenance of your D3 after all?
Martin, I agree that we don't need a seperate forum (d3carclean.co.uk ) but a section of this existing forum isn't too much to ask is it?
It's not just about 'detailing' but where are all the crevices where mud get's stuck (i.e. where is rust most likely to appear) , what's the best way to clean out your radiator grill, what sealants best protect against bramble rash, how do you remove the decal badges?
The Spanish section (nothing against out spanish friends) has 9 topics in a year......... Bodsys Brake Bible

Each of course to his own and I agree that what I and others do is not to everyones taste. But to be very negative about others opinions is rather churlish and not really warranted on a friendly place like this forum.
So my suggestion would be leave this thread to those who are interested and keep to threads where you are interested.
Of course a valued opinion is very useful. I for one could not put much info on how to tow someone out of the mire apart from Duncan's great knowledge when he and I got stuck that is the extent of my experience. Would I go on a thread and tell people that what they where doing was wrong. Of course not.
So lets be Disco 3 friends and not a bunch of amateurs!
Regards and peace
Chris
