Not on Cameras and Lens, but having been to Dubai DF, there's plenty of shops and the prices are good, but the place is mobbed at all times of the day and night. Allow lots and lots of time to browse. Never seen a DF area so busy.

Warranty aside, if you do look in Dubai make sure you know the relevant UK prices. We were there last year and my wife wanted a simple point and shoot camera. We found a suitable Canon but before we bought it a quick on line check found it cheaper at Argos.
There are some good deals, just make sure you get one. Arthur.

I just remember something on TV re grey imports for cameras, basically no warranty outside of the region. ISTR it was a Canon camera they used as an example.

Canon lenses have an international warranty, bodies only have UK warranty if purchased in the UK..........that means a UK issued receipt with UK Vat number.
Sigma lenses only have UK warranty if purchased in the UK

Cheapest Sigma 50-500mm f4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM Lens 50-500 is £849 on UK sites,
The Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens is a whopping £1759.
This drops to £1014 for the canon and £762 via digitalrev who are HK based....

You need to compare like for like, the canon 100-400 lens you have listed from Digital Rev is the Mk1 version. They have the MkII version listed at £1499.
