Disco4, 3.0 SDV6 HSE, 2011, Ignition power lost |
|
Hi all,
That happened few weeks ago, no any pre-warnings. Just blank one morning. I am still trying to find the fault. I would greatly appreciate any expert help or similar experience.
The electricity in the ignition circuit is completely missing. The speedometer panel is blank, not any notifications or errors.
The cause is not a faulty start button. That was the first thing checked because the symptoms mostly matched. All the electrics except the ignition circuit seems to work. Burglar alarm works when pressing the start button with the doors locked.
Checked all fuses and external relays in both - passenger and engine room - fuse boxes.
I've also tried to rule out the possibility of a ground problem, doesn't seem to be the cause, even I’m still thinking earthing probs. The battery has been checked and is fine. No significant error messages in the system.
I would greatly appreciate any experience with a similar failure. I've tried searching for posts but no hits for now.

I have the same problem, have you found a solution? - have you changed the brake light switch?
Check my last post. It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Hi,
I’ve just found the fault. See the reply to your last post.
The reason was faulty electric parking brake. I suppose the EPB is a part of same system bus with the ignition system. The job is not done but got mine back on road.

Is that not coincidental?
Absolutely, the vehicle can be started with the EPB enabled or disabled, or throwing a code.
Lets start with the first pinpoint test from the workshop manual. (Check your battery voltage) 2015 LR4 HSE Lux Aintree Green

Battery at 13.5... is that with a charger attached? What about after resting for 6 hours (again, directly from the workshop manual) 2015 LR4 HSE Lux Aintree Green
