camshaft positioning sensor recall
A lot of you will be aware that there has been a recall on the camshaft positioning sensors.
Unfortunately mine failed prior to the recall at a cost of £1,352.26. Once I received the recall notice, I contacted LR and said that as it is a known problem, could I be reimbursed. They have agreed to reimburse the sensor £296 plus VAT but have said they will not reimburse the labour as it wasn't done at a franchise dealership and will not reimburse any other parts as they are not on their recall list!
I am pleased they are reimbursing what they are but this last point has really annoyed me as the other parts, I would have thought, would be automatically necessary when replacing the sensor, including fluids and more importantly the Crankshaft Sensor ring which is £117.50 plus VAT. Land Rover's customer services centre have advised that they re-use the Sensor ring!
This doesn't sound right to me. Do any of you more technical people agree with what they are saying?
This is a copy of the invoice:

Try for more, but from experience, once they have made their mind up, they won't shift.

You still have your address in your gallery as you have the previous photos saved.
Bad luck on the fault!! , weirdly I just spoke to Rovertune 2 days ago about maybe having to do the same job, now I now exactly how much it'll be.
