Check that the DRL position must be ECE R48 compliant:

You'll legally be able to fit them in the grille from that info you posted dgardel.
I see there is plenty of leeway with the vertical placement of the DRL's as long as they are no higher than 1.2 metres and no lower than 250mm from the road and at least 600mm apart and with them being in the grille they'll be more than 400mm from the outer edge of the wing.Jim
Ok ... Strictly speaking mine don't quite make the 600mm apart bit. However, I fitted them on previous D4 and drove UK/France/Italy without issues ... And as current car is on same reg as the stolen one, I'm probably triggering ANPR system regularly , I don't think it's an issue.
I'm sat in a bar in Porto at the moment so can't tell you exactly how much I'm breaking 600mm rule ... I'll get one of my lads to measure tomorrow and post it ... But position is good as it avoids having to dim when indicators are flashing..

Ok .. It's apparently MY fault for parking nose first in a bush so there was more room on the drive whilst I'm away, but youngest sprogs best answer regarding gap is "2 foot I think".
So ... Save anyone waiting til next week, it's approx. 2cm more than gap between the spaces in the grille you can see I used..

By measuring my grille it looks like they'll be exactly 600mm apart!!
I was able to get a front bumper loom from a breakers and have also got the fog light bezels. I'm negociating a deal for a pair of second hand Osram combos at present.Jim

Here where I installed the OSRAM ECU...
Thanks DGARDEL
I've completed the job and fitted the Osram DRL/FOG/CORNERING Combos and since I was drilling holes, had the bumper off and had the bumper wiring loom I decided to fit the front parking sensors as well. I just have to get my Nanocom updated to include the D4 so that I can update the CCF files to get the fogs and front sensors working. I haven't wired in the cornering light option as I don't like them operating when the hazards are working.
I was however looking at another great thread on here about retrofitting cornering lights in the headlight units.
So instead of retro fitting the cornering light into the headlight unit as they are doing I was wondering if I intercepted the cornering light feed to the headlight unit (PIN 4 RED WIRE), connected the Osram cornering light wire to it and edited the CCF files, would it work?
