Clutch pedal creaking
Is this a new one then? -starting to drive me nuts now
Every time the clutch is fully depressed when coming to a halt, starting off again is accompanied by the creaking/clunking sound. The push rod has been lubed twice to no avail & whenever the car goes in, little else is found. Starting to get a bit neurotic about it now as I'm on my 2nd gearbox, & worried that there maybe an internal clutch problem (+ limited warrenty left )Richard

Can you isolate the noise to a particular part ie, the pedal pivot area or do you think it is the push rod to master cylinder, if its the latter I would be asking them to replace the complete mstr cyl as it probably won't get any better......strewth, 2nd g/box............what happened there ? if you don't mind my asking.

had similar issue on a previous Jag. Oil and grease did no use, back to dealer and it ended up requiring a completely new pedal box assembly. Supposedly it had warped under pressure of my left foot....

-new box needed at 14K as just couldn't get to change gear without 2 hands. It's a sealed for life jobbie, so in with a new one was the only answer.
Will have a grovel around to try & isolate the noise -doesn't help that it mysteriously goes when anywhere remotely near a L/R garage.....spookyRichard

Glad to hear you got it sorted, nothing worse than leaving it with dealer and getting it back just the same.

Called to the stealers day before yesterday to report a creaking clutch (before I read this thread!) and asked can you oil it or something? after consultation with the man that hides behind the mirror window was told no you will have to bring it in tomorrow as it could be a hydraulics fault - sounded like hydraulics anyway.
Next day left it at 8am and was contacted about 2pm - your vehicles ready for collection Sir, thankyou I said did you change the hydraulics? no Sir we just lubricated it!
Drove home 7 miles and to work another 7 miles OK apart from the sweet smelling aroma of overused WD40! then the next journey the clutch is creaking.
Contacted the man behind the mirror who answered by mistake and told him my plight, Hydraulics he says it does not have hydraulics it may need a new pedal when can you bring it back in. So I will let you know when they fit pedals! but it may be some time because of the hills around here

It needs a new clutch cylinder -why do they ponse about for the sake of saving a few quid. I had the same trouble on the FL in the past. Lubing/changing the seals just don't work!Richard

Hi,
Left the car with the Stratstone (again) yesterday to have the clutch fitted - you guessed it! got the call at lunchtime your car is ready for collection BUT we did not do anything because we did not have the parts.
If you bring it back tomorrow the parts will be here.
Today collected the car mid afternoon after being advised it was completed 9 miles later it's creaking again. Can anyone beat 5 visits for a creaking clutch?

Got the Clutch master cylinder replaced two days later (after giving them the info from this site).
Thanks to fakesnake and his input.
