cancelling command shift

Don't know if I'm doing something daft, but my 2012 D4 which I have had for over three years seems suddenly to have developed a problem whereby if I happen to catch the flappy paddles and select command shift, I can't cancel it by pulling both flappy levers. Flicking the rotary knob from drive to neutral and back puts it in drive and things are back to normal, but although both flappy levers work for command shift gear selection, they won't get me back to auto. Is this a fault?

I just hold the + paddle in for 2 seconds until the D re-appears in accordance with the owner's manual. You shouldn't press both paddles.

Pull and hold. Right lever only.

thanks for replies. I've obviously been doing it for too long on 'autopilot' and did something daft yesterday and confused myself - never found the cancelling of command shift the most intuitive of things.

From memory you can pull and hold either the right or left lever but not both together.

Or flip from D to S and back cancels it - which I would say is better than flipping to N and back - better as in safer as maintains drive.

LR seem to have addressed the lack of intuitiveness to some extent, in the loaner epoke we have at the mo, there's tbh option to have flappy paddles working in "Drive" or "Drive & Sport" which kinda makes sense for those of us that keep knocking the paddles in error Thumbs Up
I'm guessing they couldn't be bothered to rewrite the software for D4's to do the same. I wonder if there's a CCF edit that would do it? I'd go and check but we have a poxy epoke instead at the mo Big Cry

When I first got flappy paddles I used to hit them by accident but can't remember the last time I did it.
