Well here we go again - Another issue..!
Gearbox Fault light came on, turned engine off and later returned and engine warning light was on, but driving ok. Started car this morning and no warning lights on whatsoever. Got to work and put car in reverse and gearbox fault came on again. Switched car off then on again and no warning light on again.
Does anyone have an idea whats going on??

Do you have full range of gears or just first 4. I would also get codes read.
I had slight leak from an ATF fluid pipe which has hardly noticeable but caused the ATF to become too low. In certain circumstances it would throw a fault, typically when braking hard or reversing. This would send fluid to front of sump and trigger fault. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

I think I have the full range as driving normally. It looks like selecting reverse triggers the fault. Don't know whether I am imagining it but gear shift lever feels a little harder to move also.

If the leaver is stiff that is usually a sign that the arm on the link to autobox needs lubricating. Easy job. Plenty of posts on topic. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

Just been to an indie and cleared fault codes - run diagnostics again and all still clear. Lets see if it returns on my trip home tonight. Thanks for the help guys and I will let you know how I get on.
