Recommend a Gloucs. dealership....
Guys,
I'm (hopefully) moving to Gloucs. soon... could you advise me of a decent Dealershoip round there to book service and establish a relationship with them?
I've got the service plan so needs to be an official LR one.

Well... not Gloucestershire but, if you are heading east to catch that train we were discussing, I've always had good service from Grange Land Rover in Wootton Bassett, mostly in their former guise as T H White.
I've had very few problems with Stratstone tbh, but there's also Tim Fry in Cheltenham as an indy.

Stratstones went above and beyond for me just over a year ago, working through the night to get my car fixed for Christmas Eve. Very impressive given they knew I was unlikely to be going back there given where I live.Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE
Previously:
TD5 Defender 110 CSW (230k miles)
300TDi Disco 1 (289k)
4 RR Classics (300-350k each, 2 manual, 2 auto)
110 V8 CSW (220k)
S3 109 hi cap pickup (ex RN)
S2A 88 Safari SW with lpg conversion (bloody lethal)
I've given up on the local ones, Stratstone in Cheltenham, and now travel to Shukers LR in Ludlow for far superior customer service and pricing. The quality of service at Stratstone seems to change with the wind. Once in a while it's been great, mostly below part though in the last couple of years.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Stratstone Cheltenham used to be dire, but have really improved in recent times.
The best indy in my opinion is Wye Valley Garage in Ross.

Hi Dubbs,
I have had hit & miss service at Stratstone - Cheltenham.
But after a major rant they gave me a discounted service plan and a host of freebies.
I believe new management were put in place.
My service & MOT last year was spot on including a brand new DS for the day.
There sales on the otherhand are .
Phone call last week following an enquiry for new Disco 4 that I made 1st week of December .
I use a local Indy ex LR engineer & stratsone senior technician for any work. No dramas & excellent prices.
When are you due to move down to these sunny parts?

My very limited experience with stratstone Chelt was good. I had a set of oil cooler pipes fitted to my disco 2 when the gearbox was replaced. They were fitted by wye valley garage in Ross, as was the gearbox.
Just under a year after being fitted, I noticed the pipes were weeping. Being a known issue and one that can leave you stranded, I phoned Danny at wye valley and asked him to sort it out. He told me the parts were bought by them from statstone and the warranty was with them also. This sounded odd to me, but he insisted, and said ring Stratstone and book it in, if they charge me, he will refund it.
So I did just that, explained to Stratstone the situation and that it was a warranty repair. I was expecting a fight, but they never even quibbled it. The car was booked in and a day later the pipes were replaced and the car valeted.
My only complaint is I didn't get offered a courtesy car, but that's a very minor point considering the circumstances. I'm sure if it was a car bought from there or with a service agreement, that wouldn't be the case.
I would also recommend Wye valley, I've used them a fair bit despite being quite a drive from me.
I've never heard a good word about Tim Fry service dept, and I used to do some work for them, and the place was a disgrace. Things may have changed in recent years though. I've never had a problem with their parts dept though, they seem to do a good deal if you haggle.
MJ Fews near Wootton under edge also seems to be well liked by the few people I know who have used them, but I have no direct experience.
