Hello Discomaz,
not a difficult job at all. The front calipers contains 2 pistons which are identical to the ones from the D2. Part no. is STC1918. You also need the sealing kit SEE500010 which contains the seals and some grease.
Once you have disassembled the caliper you can take out the pistons, cover the piston holes and clean the entire caliper. Take some brake cleaner to wash off any loose particles and use compressed air to blow it out / clean.
Lube the seal ring and insert it into the caliper. There is another rubber sleeve which goes over the groove in the piston and into the caliper housing. Will take likely 30 min each side once the caliper is taken off the car. But you surely do not need the refurbished calipers at almost 100 €. I have done it many times on the Def and it had 4 pistons in the caliper.

Most just buy new, simple job, gently clamp hose and it's just a case of a single bolt to remove hose. I think you get two new copper washers to go on hose. Remove caliper as per changing discs in brake bible. If you have new caliper ready when you disconnect hose from old, connect straight to new one to minimise fluid loss. Once back together, bleed system as you would any car, ensure reservoir doesn't empty. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Long time ago I tried to reseal front D2 callipers, never again ahole of a job and nothing like the older 2/4 pot opposed piston versions which are a doddle.

If you use Advanced factors you get copper washers and new slider rubber boots just replaced my fronts yesterday, because my near side one was on the point of siezing the inner pad had been hot melting the sensor head as well, luckily the new Borg and Beck pads had a new sensor in the box also. Thanks Advanced factors.

If you put a piece of wood pressing on the brake pedal you will have no brake fluid dripping out.

Peter, Im confused by your post. At what point would you depress the brake with the piece of wood? Just before you remove the hose from the calliper? (would that not just fill the caliper?)

If you press the brake pedal before you remove the hose and keep it pressed during the whole procedure until you fit the new caliper to the hose you will only have brake fluid leaking from the old caliper when you remove it. You will not have any fluid dripping from the hose.
