D3 S with Hardon Kardon Head Unit Replacement. |
|
Hi All,
Thinking of replacing the standard stereo in my 2005 D3 2.7 S, fitted the the Hardon Kardon Speakers with a Double Din Stereo. Possible the one linked below.
Will this cause any issues?
How easy is it to do?
Where do i find the required adapters?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alpine-iLX-700-me...le+carplay
Many Thanks in advance for the help

What stero do you have fitted at the moment? Is it the highline (with the numerical keypad) or the lowline? This will have an impact on what you can fit. Dave Neil

You need to move it somewhere else. It can't be removed without screwing things up (Nav wont work for example). It's possible because I've done it. I used a fibre optic extension cable from a Porsche Cayenne and them had an extension loom made up by an auto electrician with the JRL connectors. You can then use an aux adapter lead to feed the audio - although mine jumps out of aux mode occasionally which is annoying.
Prob more ways than that to skin the cat. D3 SE with Hankook MT 275/65/R18, IID BT Tool, ProSpeed rock/tree sliders + compressor guard, RLD sump guard & winch tray + 13,000lb hidden winch, Gearbox guard, Frontrunner 80l aux tank with fuel gauge, V8 brake upgrade, Traxide USI-160 dual battery system, Frontrunner ladder, custom boot storage, Lazer LED driving lights, de-cat exhaust, Aftermarket Oro TPMS, i7 Mac Mini touch screen install (running Windows 10) mirrored on rear screens.

No Screen, The head unit is has a monochrome screen, and most of the buttons on it do nothing, but the speakers all have HK logos on them. There is a numerical keypad on the unit, but that only selects the 1-6 CD changer (never used)
The only issue i foresee is the steering volume controls??
Many Thanks
