Fixed tow bar

Having seen detachable bars go for silly money I decided to call my local firm and see how much a fixed bar would be.. I was surprised.. fully fitted witter bar with Dixon Bate hitch £225.00 inc from trident trailers Maidstone, ive seen detachable bars go for more!

You could have got a Towtrust for even less and in my opinion it's a much better towbar.

Very Happy I have TT bars and they're great but in fairness a fully fitted DB for £225 isn't bad IMO Thumbs Up

The witter kit was 175 inc so cheap enough, I cant really see how another fixed system could be better? surely they do the same job and there all rated, thats not to say towtrust isnt a good make but what makes it better?

The way it mounts to the car is better. It doesn't hang down like a plough and the support bars are much more substantial and there is far less chance of movement. The piece that fits in the chassis is a better fit.

I'm after one of the removable flange ones, none in the UK due to supply issues

I live not far from Towtrust and went down to collect my removable bar from the factory. They had a unit full of bars so i would be surprised if they are not in stock.
Dont pay the price on their website either, give them a ring, mention disco 3 forum member and they'll give you a substantial discount.
fitted well - sticks out a lot more than the LR detachable but not an issue once removed and crucially no knocking/noise when towing.

Issue is with supply of the insert from Holland. I''be been in touch with the majority of outlets (they usually order from TT on next day delivery) & TT with no joy on the removable flange one (as in this thread: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic148906.html)

If you fancied dropping in on my behalf to see if the have one it would be appreciated but TT have told me no stock at the moment which is a pain, needing 1 before Nov but pref 2 (SWMBO's as well) in total

Just had an email from JustTow who I ordered this through to say the tow-bar is not in stock (despite their website saying it is, checked a few minutes ago).
I've agreed for it to go on back order as I'm not desperate at the moment but asked them to guarantee the price. Hope I don't regret it Rolling Eyes
