Underbody jetwashing

Just had a quick look under the Disco as I had dropped something that rolled underneath. Even though I've jetwashed the underside since it was last offroaded, there's still big clumps of dried up mud right in the hard to get places.

I'm off to Prospeed next week to get some underbody protection fitted and I need to get it all blasted out beforehand.

My local car wash has some ramps but they're not very high and the guy insists on doing it himself, and he has no idea why he's doing it. He doesn't speak English, so when I asked him to be careful of blasting the exposed wires at point blank, he just stared at me blankly.

To that end, does anyone know anywhere that has a decent set of ramps or lift to get underneath?
I'm in Taunton and Manchester/Halifax but it might be a useful thread to list all locations for other people to find.

If you have a lawn sprinkler hose attachment, try leaving it running under the chassis for a while. Works well for me Thumbs Up

Lay underneath and poke the dried on mud withe a screwdriver to loosen it then jet wash.
Repeated driving through a Ford might also work.

Sorry G7jtk, but please be aware that the other driver (of the Ford) may be offended if you suggest "Repeated driving through a Ford might also work."

You might be thinking that the OP should drive through low-lying fresh water so as to facilitate the washing of excess soil and mud from beneath the OP's vehicle.

It is all in the capitalisation... Whistle

* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

As someone said to me the other day in an email, capitalisation is the difference between "helping your uncle jack off a horse" and "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse"

No more pressure than a decent pressure washer but with the added benefit of lots of vertical jets to do the underneath.

Earlier this year I installed a wagon wheel / chassis wash at one if our local sites.....made by a Swiss firm called Frutiger.....trade name "Moby Dick"..... serious stuff plant that is designed & built to wash slurries from a quarry to about 350 trucks per day....actually capable of a continuous stream of trucks.
It delivers 8 cubic metres of water per minute on an 8 metre deck......series volume of water.....it's the volume per metre as the truck drives through at 5mph.

I wouldn't put any vehicle of mine through this plant....the water system uses "flocculents" (water treatment chemicals that settles the stone / soil particulates in the slurries out so the wate can be recovered & reused).....it's a sticky clear wall paper paste consistency chemical (ph inert).....it leaves a hard to remove coating on everytjphing it touches.

If you want to or have to use a truck wheelwash.....check for water trearment.
