Aldi

Is it just me or does Aldi's stance on not putting your shopping in carrier bags at the till really get my fecking backup Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

They insist on scanning your items so fast you just don't have time to pack them and when you ask them to slow down they say its policy not to pack into bags at the till

I'm the Censored customer here and I'll decide how I pack my bags you bunch of Censored muppets.

End of rant.

It's no frills retailing, you get what you pay for. They don't do service hence the price of their products. Self service tills frustrate the hell out of me but Aldi & Lidl need them

For me, that doesn't really work. You go into Aldi, knowing how the checkouts are run, but want to do it your way?

That's like going into B&Q and demanding they sell bakery goods, because you're the customer and you'll decide where you want to buy your bread, you useless sellers of DIY hardware and building materials.

We never use bags if we have a trolley sized shop, shop goes straight back into the trolley out to the D3 and loaded into folding crates, one for the fridge, one for fruit and veg and another for dry goods, nice and simple.

Doesn't bother me, if your organised and put all your open bags in the trolley you just rapidly throw it all into the open bags rather than into the trolley itself, job done and out you go. Use Aldi every week and haven't once had to use the bagging area behind the checkouts.

Does annoy me though when you get a 'muppet' in front of you that insists on wasting half my day packing their bag.

Do like I do, at any supermarket, open the back of the D4 up and chuck it all in.... Ok some stuff goes into the cool box but most of the rest goes into a large tray like cardboard box I have in the back of my Discovery, loosely fixed into the rearmost end of the load space....

It's because they aim or should I say Aldi's target for their checkout staff is 1400 items an hour through the till. Helping you pack your bags might isn't important to them, making money is.

You lot still go to a Supermarket Shocked
Reading this reminds me of the fun I've missed for the last four or five years.
No one ramming trolleys onto the back of your ankles, queuing for a checkout, stroppy cashiers throwing your goods down the checkout, doors of cars smashing into yours.
Have it delivered to the door, sooooo much easier.
