Tuning again (Autologic style) |
|
I know that there have been other posts about remapping, but just thought I would give my experience.
Had an Autologic upgrade of around 50bhp done at my independant garage Mount Ash Autos in Bradford - Charlie the owner used to work at Simmonites and is a Land Rover God!
Saw immediate improvement with driveability, (auto) gearbox works better and come 3500 revs, the engine note changes and loads of power kicks in.
Yes I get puffs of black smoke, mpg is no beter, but smiles per gallon must be over 100!
Recommend it to anyone. Wish I had a D3, but at least I now have a Landie - YIPEE

You have to wait until 3500 for the power to kick in?
Think you'll find it's more like 36-40 BHP 'at the wheels'
Still, as long as you're happy!

Its a good thing most newbies go straight to the welcome thread DG, and don't read this kind of stuff first. You might scare'em off

Don't have to wait until 3500 for the pwer to kick in - it starts from under 2000, but where an unchipped runs out of steam at anything over 3500 revs, with the tune, it still pulls very hard.
You may be right with 40 bhp (at wheels), BUT IT FEELS LIKE ABOUT 240BHP!
