Fault Code - Ignition Key Withdrawl Lock |
|
Hi,
I've tried googling this but found nothing. A friend has run a diagnostic on it and it shows 'Ignition key withdrawal solenoid action short to earth'
There are NO transmission symptoms when driving and the only time it shows the warning is when park is selected. The key can be removed regardless of the selector position.
This fault has been there for several years & we side stepped it by leaving it in neutral with the hand brake on so that the warning doesn't show, and then selecting park, we did not know that we shouldn't be able to remove the key until park was selected.
Any ideas?
Many thanks,
Tony

Well it will be the solenoid in the ignition key barell. or wiring to it.
Fairly pointless feature.

Had some very strange faults and alarm going off. Turned out to be the ignition barrel. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
