Can someone enlighten me whether the 72 month service, which includes cambelt, tensioneer changes etc
is a body off job, or can it be done without the need. Although i have a sport, i was wondering whether
it is the same procedure on the D4??
I would also be happy to hear from anyone who has had it done at an independent around the
Sydney area ??
Thanks another Pommie from the darkside

Hi Jim,
It is the 7 year/168,000km service that has the timing belt change in it.
I can highly recommend Roving Mechanical at Peakhurst - they now have a workshop and perform that with body on.
I can't recall if your RRS is the 2.7 or 3L. If it is the 2.7L, also make sure they change the oil pump when doing the timing belts, as it will prevent it from cracking and killing your engine within about 20,000km.
Cheers,
Rob

Probably the water pump. When mine is due to be done (another 30,000km) - I will have coolant flush, water pump and oil pump replaced as well. Seeing they're in there - might as well get it done for piece of mind. Note that the Ford Territory TDCi oil pump is *heaps* cheaper than LR part.
