worrying times ahead ?
I don't drive our d3 on a daily basis as the wife uses it to work and back each day whilst I use my works van but im seriously getting worried . She has come home saying the car is making a noise ( this was a few months ago ) to which I took it out for a test drive and came back with the opinion that it was road noise due to it having got GG mk2 fitted and to be honest they where noisey as soon as I had them fitted but I could live with them but now they have done about 15k something is getting noisier ( must be as wifey has noticed it ) , I have had a look on here and other guys have also said that they get noisier with millage but also whats concerning is I changed the rear prop about two months ago for a genuine Land rover and I'm now thinking it could be this or the diff. I haven't got a set of four road tyres to try just wondering what your thoughts are guys ? Car is as 54 plate manual with 120k on the clock and serviced by me with ALL the diff/ gearbox oils etc oils changed 2 years ago

Front wheel bearing? They can start to growl with little or no sign of movement when you rock the wheel.

I'm no expert, but I've had a fair few noises come from my D3 & got them sorted out (mainly by Keith at LKC tbh), but if you'd like to me to jump in & we can trundle round a bit to see if we can work them out between us?

Have you tried rotating the tires front to back. May be worth a try as it costs nothing.D4 MY15 SE TECH

I also have a 54 plate manual, and had a very similar issue last year. It turned out to be front wheel bearings. I tried the normal stuff "rocking the wheel top and bottom" but wasn't convinced it was the bearings, I eventually bit the bullet and ordered a pair from our friends at AF and problem solved. You would never believe the noise they make once you've taken them off and spin them.Joined Aug 2014. Disco 3 SE 54plate, Buckingham Blue, Cream leather.

Thanks guy I checked the wheel bearings awhile ago but will get it jacked up again over the weekend and have another look , still very worrying that the wifey has noticed it getting worse
Changed the tyres around a few months ago but wifey slashed the side wall on a 15k millage tyre that had to be replaced by a brand new one, again I will rotate them this weekend, looks like its going to be a busy one
