Suspension Problem.. Is this right?

Got the dreaded suspension fault normal height only issue with my Disco 3, had it on the computer and confirms the compressor is overheating and failing after a couple of minutes. Now had it to my fitter who I trust and has ran land rovers for years and he's told me that because the suspension isn't dropping just to hang on and not replace the compressor because I don't adjust the height anyway and save myself £500. He's had the same problem on his D3 for 3 years he rekons.

I've been posting about a similar issue I've had and today I found a cracked air dryer cover and replaced it with the compressor in situ - cost of parts £20. I also had sinking issues but solved that with a new Front Valve Block.
