But why does the limpmode and error codes just come now and then. limpmode goes away when restarting. Comes usually completely unexpected when cruising.

The LP does look tired at those figures although not the worst I have seen - some go negative when revved!
The difference between key on and running gets my attention. Unless your battery is weak the big difference in output could be due to wiring / high resistance.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

My recent situation sounds identical to yours. The car would hold 40 mph on the motorway but a hill or any faster and it would throw the p087 or 2290 codes which would resolve on a restart. I suspected the LPFP and based on Robbie's guide I checked the current at the fuse and psi at the valve both of which were the same as yours. I bit the bullet and changed the LPFP and now, 2 weeks later, the issue has not reoccurred by which I assume that I replaced the right part!-------------------------------------------------------------------

So it looks like I should change the LPFP.
A question.
Should I buy the expensive LR complete pump or just buy a motor and keep everything else.
It looks a little tricky to dismantle the unit. Three screwdrivers!
Robbie, what would you suggest.
There seems to be different opinions about just buying a pump.
Is there a recommended pump? And where to buy it?

What sort of gauge are you using to read down to 1psi?

Whilst I am a big fan of saving money wherever possible, for a LPFP I'd buy a complete pump.
Please check the voltage at the old pump before sticking in the new one, just in case it is a wiring issue.

I know my name's not Robbie but... I bought a Peugeot unit with a view to just replacing the pump, then when I realised the job that was in front of me I just went ahead and bought the LR unit - the last thing I wanted to do was get the tank out, remove the module, fiddle about replacing just the motor, put it all back together and not have got it all absolutely right. Just replacing the module gave me peace of mind. Also I read Disco Mikey and others saying that the Peugeot pump motor hadn't lasted very long in some cases.-------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for the advice.
Will start measuring Volts and Amps before doing anything.

Hi,
Any news on the Amps? Have you replaced the LPFP yet? Did it solve the P2290?
I am getting on long journey sometimes P2290.

Have to do the Amp reading when I am in my countryhouse. Hopefully around July 1st.
Not changed anything yet.
Will start a new thread asking a general qusestion. Do not understand how intermittent faults can point to a faulty pump or compressor. I thought motors are either on or of.

Before I replaced my LPFP I noticed that the fault would only occur when the tank was quite empty - i didn't occur when the tank was full. The fault would occur as soon as the pump was under pressure - hills, hard accelerations, high speed etc. It worked OK in normal circumstances then as soon as you demanded more of it it threw a fault.
The motor is likely failing but it only dips below the performance threshold sufficiently to tripa fault ina specific set of circumstances. Or that's how I reconciled it!-------------------------------------------------------------------

My fault and code comes very intermittent. Usually when cruising with just little gas. Have tried to find if it comes when the tank is full or empty. Cannot find any difference.
