Drying up

Hello,
I have wet carpets after blocked sunroof drains. How did you manage to get the carpets dry again?

Thanks,
Peter

Maybe I can rent something? Any special type of dehumidifier? How long time will it take to dry out?

You can rent them over here in the uk you can buy them quite cheaply as well if you are going to leave it in overnight make sure the unit can hold a fair bit of water as they can suck up a fair bit of water and its hard to say how long maybe a few days maybe not Thumbs Up

Two tips if used in combination will dry it out in 48 hours. Use a Vax (wet & dry) vacuum to remove much of the water and dampness and then stuff newspaper under the carpet and lay sheets on top. Newspaper is hydroscopic so change the paper 3 or 4 times. It's not pretty or convenient but it works. I have used it several times.
SAAB 9-3 Convertible (bought before they all disappear)
D3 TDV6 HSE 2007 Black with Alpaca interior (gone and much missed)
Uncle Ray Wheel Protector (best accessory ever bought bar none)
SAAB 9-3 Sportwagon (daily driver)
Ford Galaxy (traded in for Discovery, less said about this car the better)
Saab 900 Green 5 door (gone missed)
SAAB 900 Black 3 door (gone missed)

A dehumidifier is the bees knees but remember if air cannot get to it it will not dry it, so prop up the carpet etc.

One kept my boat dry when I had a leaky window and simply couldnt work out where the leak was, months later I sussed it!
Lots of people use them to keep boats dry, the better ones use dessicant rather than gas, lots and lots of posts on boat forums ref the gas ones dying once out of warranty.
Ours is a Meaco DD8L
