Why am I being so stupid?

I have a D4 MY14 HSE Lux (which therefore includes the standard roof rails). Can I therefore fit in a car park max height 1.95m? Need to know as when the wife sounds the alert it's the car park for the hospital and I'm hoping to park before junior arrives!

It gives the height of the car on the visor doesn't it? Mine does.

Should tell you all you need to know. Drop it to locked access height

IIRC it's 1.92m without roof rails, so a bit tight?

No problem. Access height is 1837mm, standard height an additional 50mm. Even in off-road height you should make it.

we have roof rails and in ''access'' mode it fits into a 1.9 height garage, we were in the Go Outdoors car park in Chatham yesterday with no problems and that states 1.9!

Will be OK - I used to regularly park in a 1.95 when I worked in Bristol

Might be worth a dummy run and check as I'm not always convinced as to accuracy of height guides? - especially given the circumstances Very Happy

Good luck!

Thanks very much. And a trial run a good idea! Just slightly nervous as in France we went under a 2m and barrier and hit the roof (no mods to the roof of the car).

Because I regularly park around London, I actually went out and measured my car as accurately as I could (with a stick across the roof etc) and got these figures for a D4 Landmark with full length roof rails.

Access Mode - 1.85m (6'1")
Standard height - 1.9m (6'3")
Off road height - 1.95m (6'5")

Generally I think of 1.9m as my personal minimum as the problem is more likely to be with the measurements of the car park board than the car! This is with the vehicle in access mode.

Obviously, if you have different tyres/pressures then your figures might be slightly different!

I had to work out the height of my d4 now it has a expo roof rack and a spare wheel on the roof. Worked out that 2.1m in access mode was a safe limit. Next day went to a car park with a 2.1m barrier, no probs I thought. Luckily I went carefully because it hit the car.
I went back the next day with a tape measure, the barrier was only 1.95m! Think I'll need to fit parking sensors on the roof to be safe!

Sydney, you might want to rephrase your post for public decency! (or was that intentional?)
