Lakeland Landrover - Buying
After all the good feedback on the site I contacted them for a deal on a new HSE. Very responsive to deal with but they have obviously hit their targets for the month as they were only willing to go to £42,400 including the £1000 customer discount (higher than the other dealers I have contacted). I am not questioning their customer service - I am sure that I will give them a go for servicing. Another dealer has offered £38497 but there are no HSEs with the colour combination that I want available for delivery before end of Sept (that is there is only one in the network black/alpaca - not my first choice living up a track and never getting around to cleaning the car!) . Just have to wait. Still have not decided whether it makes sense to change given that most gargaes are offering around the £20-21K mark for the trade in - ouch..... 2010 5.0 V8 HSE, Ipanema Sand

i wish you the best of luck with your purchase.
But, we are as you quite rightly said within our targets,
every one here gets similar deals same service costs, same parts prices, not rip off some to pay for chucking money at others.
Any way i had beter leave it at that before i get in trouble with the powers that be

Obviously a miscommunication on the price as I was sure that was what was offered. As I said previously, I am not complaining in any way about how my query was dealt with and I will give you a go for servicing when I am up that way at my parents or cottage.
I was just pointing out that there are other dealers out there (2 now) who obviously have not hit their targets and are willing to go down to £38497. Sorry, but to me initial price is fundamental regardless of 07 or 08 build (very little difference) as this effects the depreciation that I take the hit on for purchasing from new (£3203 on your figure to the best offered). I have found this to my cost as initial predictions were residuals in the 60 odd% category and looking at around the 50% mark now three years on. Most dealers cannot cock up the delivery of a vehicle and you can take it to where ever you like for warranty and servicing. That is simply competition.
I take on board what you say about vehicles available - in fairness they did offer me a vehicle at that price but not in the combination that I wanted.
