I still have a lot of time for the guy. Any journalist who can upset Alistair Cambell is fine with me plus he had a  time shortly after his wife died when burglars stole his wife's jewellery/rings. He seems to have swung between political and business editor at times and I must admit I'm at a loss as to where the two meet but, apart from his elongated sentences, I like his observations and evaluations and I would be a little less informed if he were not around ( I do read and listen to other views  ).

Not the same calibre as Jeremy Paxman......to me the far better one

The guy Faisal on one if the TV channels seems to be the sharpest of the whole cutlery drawer....
Andrew Marr is the total twonk not letting the interviewee say what he needs to say......very biased to the Tory's & anything they do, think, mean or represent so not that objective in his approach BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics

He anounced the run on the rock bank and became infamous for publicising the start of the 08 recession, he milked it for all its worth and believed his own hype , it was evident from his demeanor thereon that head swellage would mean a move from auntie .
Personally I think his style is rubbish and he has problems that prevents a clean crisp sounding oratory report , harsh but I equally believe Andrew marr is terrible and a face for radio thats my opinion .

if you watch his Sunday AM programme he appears as per normal but rarely moves one of his arms.....his speech doesn't seem to have been affected..
however he doesn't let the person being interviewed actually speak & interjects constantly

Anyone who could stand up to Eddie Mair, and survive, gets my vote.
Paxman was a closet Tory, otherwize pressure would have been put on BBC to get rid of him after his

Eddie Mair never ceases to amaze me - my only comparison for his versatility is with Beethoven, who could one 'minute' be composing Fur Elize, and the next beating the hell out of my senses with the Eroica or the 5th.
Mr Mair's compassion with people who have suffered grievously is heart rending, but he still asks the searching questions.
The way that he blind sides frauds, liars, and mendacious politicians is worthy of a Chess Grand Master. Somehow he seems to hypnotize his interviewee, who walks purposefully into a trap of their own making, whilst Mr Mair shows us sound pictures of what is about to happen - and does.
I understand that he was offered the Jeremy Paxman hot seat, but turned it down flat in favour of ''PM'' on BBC R 4, and the occasional Newsnight appearance.
To return to the topic - one of the many highlights in the Mair-Peston collaboration was their saunter to spring 'surprize' interviewees on each other:
