CD player - Help please !!

Can anybody help please ??
My CD player would play a cd for sometimes 20 secs sometimes 90 secs before it would say "invalid disc"
Well today after looking on this great forum I thought I'd strip the unit down and clean various bits inside and try again.
Well after a few hours I had it all back together or so I thought and plugged it all back in only to get a cd error message on screen now and a noise like something is jammed. So I've taken the stereo apart again another two times and I'm still getting the same fault. I think it's something to do with the cd mechanism where I've had it apart but can't find any info on it. Has anyone got an exploded view of the mechanism of how all the parts/components go together please.
The photo shown here shows my disc transit brackets at the top of the mechanisim,is this right ?

Thank you Thumbs Up

Thanks, this is what I used to strip it down. I think it is the disc transit brackets that are jamming but I'm only guessing. I just don't know whether I've got the mechanism back together correctly.

Hi, maybe a long shot. As I've never had one of these apart, But when you removed all the screws did you keep them in order. So when you reassembled it, the correct length of screws went back in the same location. Just a thought..

Hi John,
Yes all screws went back in the threads they come out of. To be fair they are all mostly the same anyway. Thumbs Up

So this morning I've stripped the stereo for the 4th time and removed the cd transit brackets to inspect. Upon removal I've found that both bottom brackets have the 1 tiny lug missing out of each. Can anyone tell me if this is correct for the bottom carrier bracket or if it's broken.it seems a bit odd that both are missing out of the same holes. If they are broken does anyone know whether I can leave those brackets out and have a 5 disc player rather than a 6 disc player ??
If you look at the photo the left and middle brackets have 1 lug each missing and the right one is shown for what the others look like with the lugs.

Thanks Thumbs Up
