Halfords 4 tonne bottle jack
Does anyone know if their 4 tonne bottle jack is a good one for the Disco?
":he maximum extended height of the Jack is 6cm, the hydraulic lift is 11.8cm. (All dimensions are approx.)"

I've bought one to carry around with me, still in the box, never used. Will easily lift the disco and I figured I could find a stone or a fence post or something for extra height if I ever actually need it!!26 and on the 4th LR..

I've no experience of it but it looks a little large to fit under a wishbone and the hydraulic travel will not do anything if used on the chassis - the Disco will just laugh at it.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Not sure, but this thread from AULRO may be of use as Post One has a spreadsheet relating to Bottle jack selection. With due thanks to original poster "BSM" for the work involved.

I've had the whole idea of jacking my D3 up at the roadside very wrong............I've been thinking I need a bottle jack and blocks of wood high enough to lift the D3 from the chassis as it's safer! When for a quick wheel change you just want the bottle jack under the suspension arm
I currently have a D1 bottle jack in the back but it has the horse shoe shaped top so I will be purchasing a new one the same as yours Robbie
And at £12 it's a bargain 8)

So they are up to the dizzy heights of £12 now.
Mine lives in a padded power supply case from an old laptop:
