Hold back and black smoke

Hi guys not sure if any of you have had this issue as no one seems to know whats wrong my 06 d3 2.7 hse has developed a problem when driving the car I can only describe it as holding back and almost like a misfire I am getting a small amount of black smoke also I have changed the main intercooler hose which was split I thought it might have been the torque converter but not sure any ideas at all

Could be EGR valves stuck open. Is it sluggish until it gets to about 2000rpm?
I can blank them for you if you want, you're not a million miles away.
Needs Fault codes reading ideally. (Which I can do also)
Did you also check the intercooler itself for any splits as well?
Could also be oil temp sensor or a number of other things.
