The time has come where we are looking at a new car (gutted to be honest!).
I've looked around and prices vary so much I'm after a little advice if possible on what my car may be worth to a LR buyer rather than a shady webuyanycar type of web site.
Its a 2005 Discovery 3 HSE with the usual spec in Tonga Green, full dealer service history up to 93K miles and then local garages thereafter, currently on 133K. I've not scrimped on anything its needed and only two weeks ago we've had a new torque convertor and had the gearbox refurbed (12 months warranty from the garage included). Also recently had a service in Feb, diff oils also done and disks, pads, etc done at the same time. Also had a new parking brake done at the same time. So again, its had whatever its needed, when its needed it. We have a MOT in two months I think (will need to check) and if I keep it any longer than a month I'll get that sorted too.
2.7 TDV6 Auto (full terrain response)
Satnav
LR Bluetooth enabled
Full LR tow pack with pin
JE Engineering engine map (claimed up to 230bhp) totally reversible
G4 Expedition Roofrack
G4 rear ladder
Range Rover Sport Supercharged Brembo front brakes - awesome stopping power
Range Rover Sport Supercharged rear brakes (larger diameter)
Range Rover Sport 19" wheels powder coated dark grey (same colour as side air intake)
New Grabber AT tyres all round
Load space slider
Its got a couple of chips on the bonnet and one on the drivers rear side door (they are just chips, very small). The alloys could do with a refurb if I'm honest, which I've been quoted at £55 per wheel, apart from that its bloody lovely and I am gutted that it may be going
I'm not posting an advert to sell, I genuinely need some advice on what its worth to think about whether to sell it. Hope that's OK.

I'd say around £9k after haggling
I would at least sell the G4 Expedition Roofrack & G4 rear ladder separately, you will get more as a total that way

Great thanks for the reply. So put it up for a little more, £9.5K you think and let them come down?
Not sure whether I want to sell, the wife is on my back about selling it and buying a small SUV. WOuld hate to sell it, just spending £2.5K on the gearbox and torque converter!

If you were to split I'd take the roofrack and ladder off you depending on price, location and condition

So is this for sale or not? If yes, then put it up for sale and purchase the ad fee from the shop, you have not yet got enough posts to qualify for free advert.
Please ensure your listing complies with the For Sale/Wanted Rules

Not for sale, just wanted an idea on what I would get for it. Apologies if I've broken any rules, but didn't want to post it in the for sale section as it wasn't for sale as such, just wanted to know IF I put it up for sale what I would likely get for it.

Hi Gareth, could you point me in the right direction on how to purchase the advert fee if I do go ahead with the sale? Have looked on the shop and couldn't see anything and looked in the rules for selling and doesn't mention a fee either, I might have missed it though!

To be honest it seems after sorting and spending all that money on a good one why sell u may end up with another second hand car that needs money chucking at it is keep it and run it in to the ground as it sounds like you've loved and do still love it I'd get rid of my wife before my D3

We're toying with the idea of selling it and buying a new small SUV. We only use the Disco on the weekend or to tow our caravan once a year to France, that's pretty much it.
We've just had the gearbox and torque converter done - £2500. I've only just bought all new tyres for it as well, so we have spent a fair few quid on it. I'm just thinking, do we pay £XXX per month on a new car which is smaller and not as good or do we put that money away now that the car is all paid for in case things go wrong. Also thought about a third party warranty from click4warranty, not searched for reviews as yet though although they would want 50% excess on any claims which is fair enough I suppose for a car of its age.
We've always paid for whatever needs to be done to it and we have an MOT coming up so will probably have a few things to sort out but my main worry as its getting older is the engine, etc. I've seen some D3 with big numbers of miles on them though.
Not sure what to do as yet, what I don't want to happen is for it to fail on our way to France. Would kill me to sell it, we used to have an P38 which was stunning but got written off when someone decided to use our car to stop theirs.
Arrgghhhh!

Keep it put the money away for a D4 I think if u keep on top of the maintenance with a good Indy L/R specialist it won't let u down and there's no saying a smaller SUV won't let u down either sounds like u look after it better the devil u no

Have decided to sell :'(
We'll buying a new Hyundai Santa Fe, won't be the same by a long shot but the time has come to move on. Will shed a little tear when it goes I think.
Will be posting in the for sale forum (with the relevant fee!) when I get some free time.
Thanks everyone for your advice.
