P0578 Cruise Control Multi-Function Input 'A' Circuit Stuck

I've tried all the normal suggestions:

1) Replaced rotary coupling
2) Replaced Steering wheel switches
3) Replaced Brake Light Swith
4) Check continuity on steering wheel loom

Now at a complete loss. Big Cry

The steering wheel switch was used, in 'full working order', so does still raise a doubt. Any way to test it other than with a known working switch?

Also check for corrosion at the PCM contacts - this is located behind the battery so the battery has to come out to gain access to the little plastic housing it lives in.

I have this fault logged and occasionally cruise control wont initiate. Is the loom the best starting point?
part no QTV500020 about £30?
Is it fiddly to do? (I'm sure I'll find a guide on here later).

Try this thread trailhound:?https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic138758.html and yes, the loom is the best starting place. Thumbs Up

Don't forget to check the fuse, could be as simple as that, could it?

mine does this every now and then, the switches always work my iid so its not that causing it,a hard reset (batt cables shorted together) always fixes it
I did a reset last weekend as the cruise hasn't worked for about a year (not bothered) car allways ran fine with the fault code, cruise working now again car drives the same as ever just another d3 thing don't worry about it
 please excuse any grammer/punctuation mistakes,i'm thick,thankyou
