Strathyre Scotlandshire for easter

Driving up to Strathyre on easter Monday with wife and 3 girls (8, 6 &1).

We're staying at forest holidays site in a cabin for 4 nights for my birthday , not looking forward to the 400 mile drive so much but the champagne and hot tub will swing it Very Happy

Any recomendations in the area? We're only there for few days but like to walk and some local tracks to drive would be nice Thumbs Up

There is a forest drive on the A821 between Aberfoyle and Calendar over dukes pass, just up from David Marshall Lodge, it is just forest track that normal cars drive along, apart from that you are pretty stumped for off road driving.

The public road past Balquhidder to Inverlochlaraig is worth the drive, especially just after dawn or before Sunset. South Loch Earn road to St Fillans also. Both narrow and wooded for long stretches but tarred all the way.

Strathyre to Balquidder road is also an adventure.

There is a good track from the end of the road at Inverlochlarig up the valley which would be good for a walk with the kids. Also there are plenty of trails in the forests or on the former rail-tracks.
