Just an update on mine which continues.
My dealer attempted to fix it at the end of March last year and it seemed much better as the days became warmer however a couple of long trips down to Southern France with the aircon working in 30 plus temperatures still needed a selection of 24 or so to be comfortable. At the beginning of winter this year it became obvious that it is still not fixed so I took it back to the dealer who completed the appropriate LBT's and guess what? It is still the same.
A couple of thing I have noticed:
Cruising at 130 kph a selection of about 28 is needed to give the same level of comfort as 21 on previous cars but during road works with a 90 kph limit, the temperature needs to be turned down by a couple of degrees to maintain the same apparent temperature
It works Ok for about the first 5 miles and then requires adjustment.
My dealer has suggested that LR might send out an engineer to address this further but I am still waiting for a call back from the dealer.
Given all the previous correspondence on this issue it seems to me that LR know all about it but have chosen not to fix the problem for reasons best known to themselves.
When I started to drive in the early sixties the cars I drove rarely had a heater that worked so my other half favoured a warm coat and something to keep her knees warm. Here we are in 2016 and she needs to do the same again!
Progress!

One further clarification ITP. When you say the dealer attempted to fix it , do you mean they applied LTB00963? This fix means they install/replace a foam insert around the temp sensor.
Trying to get to the bottom of symptoms/fixes etc.
Thanks Gary

I have also had 963 carried out and I spoke to my main dealer on this earlier who confirmed they have other customers with the same issue. They have raised a "customer concerned" process note with LR but they think it may end up being a software fix. They have no idea whether LR are working on it but I suspect the more people that ask their dealers to press LR the more likely a fix will be pursued.

I flagged this issue at the same time as the outsie temp issue last Dec (Dec 15). I have the techy guys recorded on my dash cam basically saying whats the f-ing problem, just turn the heating up if you want to stay warm!
My MY12 would keep a constant temp with the dials set at 20 Deg. My MY16 wont, it needs to be up on 23 or 24 to be warm, and as others have said, then blows cold air on you. My missus hates it.
The outside temp reading was fixed, but the cabin temp issue never has been.

mine has had this issue since new.
After the first six months of having to waste time getting someone to acknowledge it has been an issue it has been in three times now and its still not fixed. you have to keep it on high to get any warmth out of it.
Its annoying, but it probably means that I won't ever buy another Land Rover (its a 50k car and it sits on the drive because my wife wont use it in winter) and if I do - I definitely won't buy from my dealer who have been completely disinterested.
They couldn't have been less interested in getting the issue fixed.
I put up with issues in my Defender, but not in a Discovery. I also have two german vehicles and neither has missed a beat.

I don't think its a software issue, mine was built late Feb/early March 16 and works exactly the same as my 2012 D4, its just bout right set at 22.
Was speaking with Bob the other day who has a March/April 16 car, he was amazed at how warm mine was compared to his when we did a trip a few months ago.
Surely, if it was software, then it wouldn't be cars built both before and after mine that were affected?????

It's interesting that you say that Bob has commented on how warm your car is compared to his. I take it that he is having to continually turn it up then suffers the cold air blowing in via face and foot well vents from his comment?
I too have another D4 to compare if with, its a MY14 so is only a couple of years older. It has never had the feeling of the climate control not controlling, it seems to be spot on in terms of warming during the winter. And never any issues with the cooling in the summer either, rapid coold down then steadies out nicley.
I have commented on the other thread http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic154903.html that the LTB for the bit of foam being correctly fitted has helped but still the cold air starts blowing and then it is getting noticeably cooler. Thus I see it as a control issue of the HEVAC system not being able to regulate to the setpoint temp, and turning up still does not make the car warm (and stay warm) for the total journey.
Since the other car does, it seems that there has been a stage missed perhaps in the calibration of said system during build, either at supplier stage or during build on the production line. That's my current thoughts now since the LTB was completed last week.
I expect the dealer will pursue the issue with us to resolve - as I said on the other thread, I'll post updates with what goes on.
