Gap comes to the rescue..... Again

Just a quick thank you yet again to Patrick and the guys at GAP.

I had to update a RRSport engine and transmission software.
I was using SDD, as iid doesn't have this option yet.
Well, engine update went fine, but the transmission flash failed, even though the temp was below 80deg C. (Next time I won't attempt it unless stone cold!).
Because it failed, SDD couldn't check the trans temp, due to the corrupted software, thus wouldn't go any farther.
Well, a quick email to the GAP team and a few minutes later a special file was written and sent and the vehicle was updated and up and running with a 6 minute flash.

Saved the owner buying a new trans valve unit Bow down

Last week I had to program a new CJB to a Disco 3. SDD couldn't find the VBF file for programming on the SDD or on Landrovers server. Landrover technical were asking all sorts of irrelevant questions.
Again, a quick email to Patrick and the file was attached to the reply,it into SDD and all programmed up.

So, both occasions the support was not for their own tool, but solely to help me out, from the goodness of their hearts.

This is not to mention the times they have added little tweaks to their own iid.

Many thanks for the help. Bow down

Regards
Steve

Glad we could help! The only problem with the RRS was that we weren't able to save the owner from getting married Laughing
