Hi all, hoping there's someone technically minded to sort this....or just common sense....
My D4 alarm is sounding in the mornings to the annoyance of me & my neighbours! Plus the fact me running down the stairs only in a pair of pants, looking for keys then legging it out to the street to switch the b***ard off is'nt great!
Its seems that it only sounds when FBH is active.
Would this be due to FBH depleting the battery level thus activating the alarm?
Or, FBH is heating the interior & alarm thinks someone is inside??
HELP! I love my FBH! It's the car equivalent of an electric blanket!

That's an interesting point, and one I wondered about remote FBH. With the alarm active, surely the vibrations of it kicking in might set off the alarm. Does it activate if when you set the Alarm you double press the remote to deactivate the interior and tilt sensors ?

Errr..... not sure on the double tapping..... Im an old Transit man, so I just habitually press the remote lock twice...this produces the klonk of the deadlocks(?) or double locking?
I may need educating on the functions of the smart key!

Single click will only activate the perimeter security - so try that to see if the FBH is upsetting the fully activated alarm (double click)  LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

Hi your alarms going off due to your low battary volts
There is a bulitin for this he vac and body control down loads
To shorten the of the fbh run time also your battary could be faulty or not getting enough time to recharge due to your usage of the car.
The replacement battary Lr battary is now a agm which is much better at dealing with this kind of usage

Thread resurrection!
This happened to mine this morning a couple of times. FBH on for about 15 mins and then the alarm started to sound. Could it be as detailed above, low battery voltage? Cheers Scott.

It might not be just low voltage. Mine always goes off if I've double locked the car (two clicks on D4) about 5 mins after I start the remote or timed climate.
If I single click lock it the alarm never goes off because the interior sensors are not armed with a single click lock (so the warm air wafting around from the heating can't trigger them).
I raised this point ages ago and someone very knowledgeable on the forum (can't remember who now) said that there was a software change very early on in the D4 life to disable the interior sensors at the point where the remote or timed climate came on if the car was double locked, although I'm not sure if that is true or not. Just seen yours is a 2015 so if it is true unlikely it is your issue - would have been fixed ages ago or loads of people would have the problem
You can prove if this is the issue by doing what I have to do every morning before activating the remote climate. Unlock the car using the key fob unlock button, then relock with single click lock, then start remote climate. No more alarm bells. Of course completely useless if you are out of range of the key fob (the remote climate remote has a much longer range) or you are using timed climate and it starts whilst you are still in bed!
A useful test to see if that is your problem though.

I also understand - double locking (two clicks) also disables the emergency key unlocking. So the car can't be accessed using the key? 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

No I don't think that's the case, the deadlocks can be undone with the emergency key. The main function of double press lock is that the door can't be opened using the inside handle if a window is smashed.

Hmmm.... not convinced ....... my wifes Toyota would not open using the 'emergency key' because it had been double locked - which Toyota confirmed was the case .... and applies to most manufacturers..... apparently..... only saying 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black
