United States 2010 LR4 5.0 V8 HSE Auto Alaska WhiteLR4
5.0 V8 Coolant Tube (Intake area)

I took my LR4 into the LR dealer, and they quoted me over a $1000 for a water pump replacement, and then the mechy mentioned that a coolant tube should be replaced as well as it is a know issue.

I said thanks and left, an Indy quoted $375 for the pump job, and I let it with them... after an hour the garage texted me pictures of my inlet and asked I wanted to replace my cooling pipe under the intake.
( a fair few hours of labour as the intake comes off)

As this had been mentioned twice, I had it changed ($640 all in - LR parts)

So, I now trust my LR dealer more, but have also found a great Indy.

My question is... does anyone know what this tube is and what it does? Question

My LR4 had to have a coolant pipe replaced in that region under warranty, as it had rubbed against the body and wore through.

Don't know if that helps, but it was good to have it done under warranty.
