I have one - I can see it - but how do I know if it's doing anything?
I have a commercial so no fob/dash menu for it but should it come on automatically and how do I know if it is working?

Just tried it. It's -2 outside, engine cold - nothing from the pre-heater at all after two minutes idling.

Just tried it again, this time I put the air con on max and it came on. No smoke though, must be a very clean burner! Could feel it blowing from it's little exhaust in the wheel arch, and it stayed on for a couple of minutes after switching off the engine.
I think my distrust stems from owning landrovers for too long!!

Not really... it's the most unreliable piece of cr*p, failed expensively in both my LRs. Useless. ____

it works the charm if you get the remote for it to pre-heat never missed a bit in last 6 years of D3 ownership and does the same on D4 with remote
click click in the morning or before you leave and nice and worm ....

no oval timer with remote on old one 20 min install
on new one slightly longer to install and enable but awesome nice addition to heated windscreen and all
