IID live values to diagnose gear box

I have a 2006 D3 and have been living with the dreaded autobox thumps in low gears for a while now and its slowly getting worse so I am finally determined to get to the bottom of it.

I have already had the usual flushes and filter changed etc but no improvement.

Following research on interweb, I suspect that the next step will be pulling the valve body and solenoids and sending it off for test and refurbishment.

However, before I do this, I would like to use my IID to read / log the relevant live values to see / confirm the fault before and difference after refurb.

Which begs the question, which of the plethora of variables are the relevant ones in my case, and is there a more detailed description of each of the live values available anywhere?

Has anyone successfully used this technique to diagnose faults in the transmission?

Is there an exemplar set of results that I could use to compare my readings against?

I need my perma grin reinstated and resolving this horrible bumpy driving sensation is key to finding D3 happiness...

Many thanks in advance!

M

The IID can read the adaptive values on the 6HPMbox, but the firmware needs to be above a certain level, otherwise it shows up NA

Thanks disco-mikey

I'll see if I can get to those values and if so I'll post them up.

Cheers!

My car has a nasty 1-2 2-3 up change ! Can it be repaired then or does it mean a full rebuild ? Other than the gear change it drives fine, no slip or judder.
