Looking as getting from forum shop 13 pin ctek battery charger lead. Before I buy will this be ok with D4 with stop/start and maintain both batteries ?

It works just fine on a stop/start D4 for the main battery and the BMS works correctly. I have yet to instrument the additional battery so I cannot confirm exactly what goes on with it other than charging from the tow socket does no harm.
If someone brings me a stop/start D4 I can fit a data logger in a few minutes that can monitor the additional battery over days or even weeks. That way we would know exactly what is going on.

Just out of interest, did we ever get an answer to this one? I've still not managed to find out exactly how the cranking battery and aux battery get charged and whether connecting a CTEK to the cranking battery will charge both.D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

It depends what dual battery system you are running.
If it is a voltage sensing system it will activate and both batteries will be charged. Thats how it works with my National Luna system anyway.

Thanks Bruce Does anyone know if this is the way the dual battery start/stop setup works on MY14+ ?D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

I think this can be tested very easily: Just put a CTEK on the main battery (minus to ground, not battery pole!) and than measure the voltage of the stop/start battery. If it will be loaded, it has the same voltage as the main battery.Discovery 4/LR4 HSE 5.0 V8 MY2010 // Volvo XC60 II T8 Inscription Fusion Red MY2020 // Hyundai Kona Electric Trend MY2020 // Bürstner TravelVan 620G MY2020

On mine, once the charger hits a certain output voltage (and this seems to be when the main battery is charged and it's just keeping it topped), the split charge controller detects enough voltage to engage the solenoid and the aux battery is connected in parallel. This puts load back onto the charger, the voltage drops a bit (I assume) and it disconnects. This cycles every minute or so, and to avoid it, I simply disconnect the multi plug on the back of my T-Max controller when charging.
I keep meaning to fit a normally-closed relay or similar to the switching wire for the T-Max controller to avoid this, but need to figure out a circuit that will detect when there is charge via the tow socket.
This is all for a T-Max split charge controller and an Odyssey aux battery.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

On a MY14+ with stop/start, connecting a charger to the main cranking battery, either directly or by the tow socket, will only charge the main battery. The secondary battery is connected to the vehicles electrical system via mosfet relays, which are opened and shut by the Gateway Module. If the vehicle is asleep, this module shuts down and therefore doesn't open and shut the relays to connect the secondary battery to the vehicle's electrical system.
The only way to charge the secondary battery is to connect a charger directly to it. On this secondary battery, you can connect directly to the battery terminals, as there's no BMS on the secondary battery. The secondary battery is a 14ah 200cca 12v AGM.
Be aware though, that if you do fully charge the secondary battery as well as the main cranking battery, the stop/start system may well start working D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

In answer to Robbie, after we get the 'silly season' out of the way, shall I ask Carrick to have a run up to you so that you can test?
