Sand Mode is great
Got to love the sand mode and annoying idiots in what they think are 'sorts' cars. Had a young lad alongside me today in his little Clio Sport, music blasting and flying from all the lights, I got alongside him at a set and put it into sand mode and then pulled away up to around 60-70 where i then just smiled to myself as he was killing his car to keep up and then flew off at a very erratic pace haha.
A 3 ton car shouldn't be this quick off the mark haha

When I went on one of the Land Rover Experiences the instructor told us the Russians like to keep theirs on the sand setting specifically for the traffic lights.
I must give it a try Andy

I don't get it, Sand Mode pulls away slowly so as not to get wheel spin.

Sand mode has a very aggressive throttle map not damped one as for muddy surfaces

ISTR Sand Mode shortens the life of many drive train components - not something to be used to win the Traffic Light Grand PrixSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Once in a while does not hurt though after all it is on the vehicle as a setting to use,but would not do it at every set of lights.
Did the same a few years ago with a Merc driver his face was a picture when he looked and saw a 3 ton tank keeping up with him between sets of lights.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Not had a go at this. But having recently had a remap might just see what happens
Must admit though the remap takes care of most idiots at the lights
