All,
I have a 2010 Discovery 4 TDV6. It has approximately 72K miles. I have owned it for a year and was purchased from Land Rover and has a full warranty.
Since owning the car there has been some smoke from cold starts. I've had it back to the dealer a number of times and have had various parts replaced, including:
Intercooler;
Turbo, intercooler and pipe work.
As it is still smoking the dealer now tells me that Valve Guide Oil Seals are the cause of the smoke and will need replacing. It is coverd under warranty so I'm happy to let the dealer carry out the work.
My question is what this work will involve. I assumed that this work would require the cam belt to be replaced as part of the work? Is there anything else (service parts) that should be replaced at the same time?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Have they change the turbo oil drain pipe to the modified location that's a common cause for smoking issues.
