Heated windscreen element

Hi All and Happy Christmas! New disco is 3 weeks old and due to the warm weather I haven't needed to put on the heated screen and the temp sensor is reading high as discussed here. Yesterday t'was a bit misty so stuck the screen on. There's a line right down the screen right in the middle of the drivers view that is not working! It isn't the end of the world as the horizontal lines all do so they clear it but a bit slower than the rest. I had a dodgy screen 3 discos ago and they swapped the car as a reject. What's the view ? Reject the car or replace the screen ?

How wide is the line ?

Also the high temp reading appears to be only affecting 2016MY motors.

About 1cm but it disappears quickly as the horizontal elements are fine. The car is a 2016my

Ah right ....you need to update your profile as it's showing a 2013 HSE Laughing

Thats fine for the heated screen ...it's made up of two elements ...so there is a small gap between the two in the centre Thumbs Up

Its sea-karate from the one in the centre, it's a bust or faulty wire I think. Forgot about the profile...ooops

Sea-Karate ..that is a new one Rolling with laughter

OK if you are sure it's a wire fault then I would get them to change the screen ...I personally wouldn't try to reject over that tbh Smile

My understanding is that for a minor fault such as this (annoying as it maybe on such an expensive vehicle), you'd not be able to reject the vehicle. You have to first allow the dealer to attempt to fix it.

I'm happy to be corrected though. Thumbs Up
