Fridge issue

Hi guys I have just fitted a fridge Inn the center cubby yesterday and it works fine, but do I need to switch it off at night or does the ignition switch it off ? Just gone out to car and battery flat and fridge seems very cold as if it's been on all night so question is does it switch off automatically? Thank you gurus☺☺

I'm no guru but seem to remember the later fridges don't switch off when fitted to a D3?

Do a search, reckon you'll find what you need. Or wait for a guru.... Laughing

Found this on another thread :

"D4 coolers don't switch off where D3 ones do when volts drop to a certain level (D3 has constant voltage regardless of ignition). D4 feed is only on when engine/ignition is on.

If that makes sense."

Have you fitted a D4 fridge into your D3?

The D4 has a different power supply and switches the fridge off with the ignition so this isn't a problem.

I seem to recall D3 fridges are more expensive for this reason as they stay on until the battery volts drops a bit then shut down.

It came out of a 2008 D3 but that's not to say it isn't a newer fridge is there any way to tell which it is?
