Genuine LR Winch
Hi,
I managed to get a Genuine winch kit that'd been removed from a D4. I've sold tge winch mount and fitted a discreet one and fitted the Warn XP9500 winch on it and mounted the solenoid pack behind the grill. I've wired in a wireless remote and also plan to have a control switch in the cab. The kit came with the Warn controller lead and a socket to plug it into which is separate to the solenoid pack and I wondered where it would have been fitted as it has a bracket on it. Ideally I'd like to mount it where the genuine ones go or the G4 ones.
Anyone got any pictures or ideas where it goes?

Hope this helps… I also went for the remote wireless version as well as the wired lead…. Hence the little toggle switch on the slat below and a small flashing LED to show it is powered up… however JLR fitted the plug where you can see it..

That's great thanks. That's where I thought about putting it but the bracket it came with looks like it should go somewhere else. Would you recommend mounting it there or somewhere else?Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey

In fairness it’s fine there and easy to plug in…however I do prefer the remote control version where you can stand further away from the front of the car should the winch rope fail…

the bracket may not be genuine , you can mount them under the bonnest too help protect them from the weather if you have a wireless controller, my winch came with a speakon connection for the wired controller so ran a cable up into the engine bay where it is coiled up in the corner just incase i need to attach the controller ( also means the controller will reach the drivers seat so you can sit with your foot on the brake)Discovery 3 - Black SE with HSE upgrade

Hi, I'm pretty sure it's genuine. The kit came off a 2016 D4 that'd had ut fitted from new, allegedly. I think it's been mounted in the engine bay somewhere, but not sure where. I'll have 2 wireless controllers and a control switch in the car, so I can use the switch if the wireless ones fail. So the trailing lead one would be a last resort really and technically I probably don't need it, but thought I might as well fit it.Discovery 4 GS 2009 Auto Stornoway Grey
