Middle 2nd row seat back stuck down
All,
Newbie here that I am hoping you don't mind helping, I folded all seats flat yesterday for the first time yesterday but I cannot get the middle 2nd row seat back to go back upright. All the others went back up with no problems but it seems as though the inertia reel seat belt won't allow the middle one to get more than a quarter of the way up. I have tried extending the belt a centimetre at a time but can never get enough out to put the seat fully up.
Am i being a numpty? Anybody else had similar problems? Is there an easy fix?

A pic would be useful, especially as I can't understand how the seatbelt stops the seat going up. It should be fully retracted when the seat is flattened so shouldn't impede it on the way up.
you can try this on your other two seats:
you have to have the seat back folded down to allow to be put into "chair lower" position
the seat back won't go upright when its in the chair lower position.
the fault you have is that you haven't lifted the seat back up "sharply" (big click)
so...
1) lower the middle seat back into folded down position
2) then with the pull strap....lower the chair then heave it up sharply......"BIG click"
3)..the seat back should now come into the usual vertical / normal seat position....
What you have is nothing to do with the seat belt
The outer seats are a bit different as they can be tipped forwards hinged from the front to allow 3rd row passengers in
the second row seat folding, lower position flat floor mode is a stunning piece of design concept & construction....never try to force anything......all movements are a sequence of eventsBREXIT - done properly.

Thanks for the quick replies, much appreciated. BL, I have tried as you suggested to no avail, I had read that in the owners manual but probably wasn't getting a solid enough click.

looks like the belt was not retracted when the seat was lowered, try tilting the near side passenger seat forward and trying to release the middle seat belt. make sure that you raise the whole middle seat before you try to raise the seatback.
You can see the seat belt go the wrong way....
Agree with littleG get access from side 2nd row seats....BREXIT - done properly.

Thank you for your continued help, as you can see the belt has retracted almost all the way, I have fed what slack there was back into the reel but still cannot raise the seat back. For good order I also put the seat in the lower position and snapped it back up a few times.
Thinking my only option is to drive up the side of the house to trick the inertia reel.......
If anyone does have further suggestions they would be much appreciated.

Will undo from the anchor point and see if the seat raises as next option.

Am I the only one that thinks the belt doesn't fix there? I've got no pics and my seats are several hundred miles away but from memory the bit the main part connects to is in the seat cushion.
I might be wrong as my seats & car haven't been together for about three years.
Oh, and car isn't on a steep slope?

It does secure there but there should be an elastic loop at the seat base that holds the belt close to the seatIID PRO

If you think the belt is holding the seat down you could try unbolting the anchor point

Many thanks to all of you, it is now sorted. What a great forum.
Unbolted the belt from the floor mounting, this enabled the seat to go to upright. Then threaded the belt through the loop on the corner of the seat cushion and reattached the belt to the floor mounting. It all now works as LR intended.
The only slight snag I had was that my torx bit and ratchet wouldn't fit between the middle seat mount and the locking mechanism for the NS seat, ended up using the torx tip and 10mm spanner.

Been so long since I put my middle row seats in the junk room/man cave.
