Probably covered a zillion times but have a disco 4 and want to install daytime LED (where they blooming well should be) and other sensible lightning upgrades. Would appreciate advice or links to earlier posts. Have trawled through but need specific information to order the right bits of kit

Cheers

I would suggest that you start a new thread titling it as 'Retrofit DRLs' or similar otherwise the people that know about this will miss your question

Nick Thumbs Up

Hi Nick
Thanks for the advice. I am a newbie on this forum and as such have some restrictions in place for a short period. I really wanted to PM Chobby and get a list of links to the sites where he sourced the various parts for the great upgrades? Chobby can you advise to save me opening another thread on something that has probably already been covered? Great mods by the way, just would be super helpful if I knew where to start my shopping Very Happy

ExtraPilot,

If you want to mod current fairy lights to be *like* DRL's then look at the discoteca thread here

For a true MY15 DRL update to your 2012 XS see Robbo thread here

Some threads lighting threads that I came across when updating my bog standard GS lights to Xenon:

Looking for spare wheel protection, found plenty on the bay of e with a hard plastic front and elasticated vinyl skirt however, I can't find one with a wide enough skirt to fit nicely like woody192 below.

http://www.disco3.co.uk/gallery/albums/use...010435.jpg

According to the thread it's 32cm wide I can't get anything even close to that though, the widest is 224mm!
Now with: Tow bar & storage, Xenon's, Remote Timed Climate, Mood Lighting, Cubby Fridge, DRL's & Mud Flaps

Accessories: Rubber Mats, Spare Wheel Cover, LR Tyre Pressure Gauge, Warning Triangle, LED's throughout & Leather Gear Selector Top

Further Planned retrofits: 13 pin Tow Electrics & Heated Steering Wheel

Possibilities: Blackvue, Rear Seat Heaters & Memory Seat

Yeah. Thats a soft one though isnt it. And i want mine to fit the other way around so the bottom is protected i don't think it will fit as snug around the wheel rim (i only have 19" wheels) as the the one in the image i linked to. .

So just thought i put up a few pics of the newly fitted custom made spare wheel cover.

Fits nicely and looks slim line and smart.

I wouldn't fit a cover like that, as Russell says it will fill with water. Also any crud that does get in is then stuck and would act like an abrasive. Most people just fit a hard plate to stop them being nicked and it stops stone flick up damage but drains. I've done 40k with a setup like this and the spare comes off fine and looking new
Sill protection - LED internal lights - LED reverse lights - boot liner - Dog Guard - Rock sliders

Yesterday whilst in the sun. I fitted the remote climate courtesy of a forum member here. I removed the upper c pillar trim and with the help of the other half fiddled the cable down behind the right quater trim. I didnt remove it just pulled the clips away at the top.

Once happy secured the cable and ensured no snagging or catching plugged in the receiver paired up the fob clipped it into place and boom!!!.

I then plugged in my IID and to my surpise ths setting were already done. Presumably i did this when i activated the timed climate

Anyway all done and just waiting for some cold 5am starts hehe.

Cheers

Yesterday my dad and i fitted the DRL lights to the car. Only took us approximately 10 hours. Looks very good though and they're very bright no pictures do them justice with regards to intensity.

Also fitted the cubby fridge and put my personalised plates back on.

Oh and replaced the split rear wiper. Only been split for around 3 weeks Rolling Eyes
Pics to follow.
