rear suspension falling over night
My Discovery 3 2006 rear suspension has recently started to drop over night.
several inches the front remains level.
can someone please advise the best course of action, I'm up a French mountain and taking to garage or dealer is not an option.
no fault lights yet.
any advise appreciated.

That's just a rubber boot to prevent bits of crap getting in the strut. It may be the reason why, but not the sole cause.

the back is dropping down evenly and the front remains level.
drops almost completely to stops over night.
im in a ski resort and was hoping not to have to do any work on the disco until the spring,
not much chance of that.
did the egr valves last week in the snow, that wasnt that much fun blanking off.
not sure what to do here.
or how major a job it is replacing the strut if needed.
thought it might be the air block as both rears dropping evenly

Does it go back up when you start the engine? Does it stay up?
The rear valve block may have a leak. If you have the ability to spray it with some soapy water (car shampoo rather than washing up liquid) then you may be able to trace the fault.
It seems unlikely that both struts would develop a leak at exactly the same time and I think you're probably on the right track with the rear valve block.

When i start it up it seems that the front lowers and then the back raises up and then the front.
feels bit weird.
drives fine and stays up whilst in use.
but the back drops quite quickly if come back after a couple of hours you can see its dropped.

Ok Have left the car a couple of hours with the fuse removed for suspension.
its the drivers rear that drops, not the one in the picture!
guess at 120,000miles and 2006 its due new air bags.
are they recommended to change in pairs or is it fine to do one?
will the geometry need re setting up afterwards? if just strut changed?
limited options where i am, is it a DIY job?
thanks

Mine does exactly the same but on the front.
I reckon its one of the solenoid valve not holding as opposed to the air bags leaking.
Might investigate tomorrow.

Does that happen when you remove fuse 26?

I think each strut has separate air supply from distribution block. So, I would not have expected this to cause another corner to drop.
What you see in the photo is the voss connector. The rust on the nut suggests the strut and connector is old. Seems likely the pipe had to be replaced and whilst removing old pipe, the connector was damaged or pipe was scratched when inserted into dirty connector. The nut has to be undone to allow pipe and collar to be removed. I probably have one retained when I replaced front struts. PM me if you want it posted. When refitting pipe, the voss connector is screwed in and the pipe pushed in as far as the ridge.
Connector looks like this.

know this is an old thread , but wondering if someone can help me plse
i've got an extremely small air leak on the front drivers side strut at the voss connector :
got a new brass 6 mm push fit connector replacement , so not the cheaper plastic ones
is it possible to get the old voss connector out and replace it with the new pushfit connector while the strut is in situ plse
my concern is the voss connector breaking as i try and unscrew it out of the strut
thks so much in advance

I would think a good soak in WD40 or similar would assist. I think there is a process for making sure no air is in the strut
