Loss of speed!

Hello,

Over the last 10 days or so, when I let my foot off the accelerator I slow down quicker than I used to, it's as though a retarder has kicked in. I have had L/R assist checked to see if the brakes are binding, this does not appear to be the case, I have also checked for any excessive heat using a thermal imaging camera, again not to much temperature between each wheel. When the guy came from LR assist he updated a couple of gearbox related software items, I think it's helped a bit but still not as was.
The car is a 2013 Disco4 XS with 20k on the clock, so it is still under warranty.
Any thoughts???

Many thanks.

Mark

Are you in Sport Mode, get a lot more engine braking if you do, or at least I do, particularly when towing.

Adaptive gearbox! The gearbox adapts to your style of driving, it takes several days/miles to learn. I have also found with the latest software in a D3 the engine braking is minimal or none existent in higher gears, but in lower gears 1-4 is equal to a manual gearbox and most noticed on steep declines and will hold any given low gear regardless of speed until the accelerator is pressed.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

It's still in warranty, so if your not happy take it back to the dealer.

Is it all the time, or does it seem to happen after a few light depressions of the brake?

When it does it, try stamping on the pedal to invoke the abs (check behind first!) and does it go back to normal?

If above is true, then my 2013 is similar. I've not had it checked out yet though, so no clue as to what it might be. I suspect a brake light switch maybe the issue?

Hello,
Many thanks for the replies.
To answer a couple of points, no I very rarely use sport mode, if ever. Not sure if it is braking related, will try it out though with the ABS. Regarding the adaptive gear box learning, I have had the car from new and has only started over the last two weeks. I was just seeing if anybody else had had this and what fixed but before I book it into the dealers.
