Rear Electric Windows not working
I have just purchased a new HSE. From day one, both rear electric windows dont work. Took it back to dealer but they couldnt figure out what the problem is. They need it for a whol;e day to investigate. They dont have a free slot for a few weeks so I am now waiting.
Just wondering whether anyone else has had this issue so that I can give the dealer some direction !!. Windows do not work from either the front switches, nor the back. The locking switch at the front lights up when on, but when switched off, windows still dont work. I suggested a fuse, but dealer said it cant be as it involves a number of circuits.
Any ideas ???

Bad show, you'd have thought they'd be bending over backwards to make sure they could fit you in with a new car. Should have picked it up on the PDI I would have thought. Would be seriously unimpressed if mines like that when I get it. Lets know on here what they find.Discovery 4 HSE Montalcino Red

Jeese...I know LR dealers are generally at customer care but if my new D4 had a problem like that I would park it in their reception...50 odd thousand and telling you they have no slot for weeks...joke...get in there and fire nine rounds of at them .......

I would normally, but this is my third one and I am now used to the utter c$%p service you get from L/R dealers.
I very very nearly jumped ship and bought another brand, but the car is so good for my family life (3 kids, two dogs, towing boat trailer, towing motorbike trailer, loading full of camping stuff and doing 25k mpa) that it justifies the agro I KNOW I am going to get from the dealers.
Unfortunately, in my experience, they are all pretty much the same as well. Due to the fact the cars are in demand, they dont have to offer "customer service". Thats my experience anyhow. So, on this occassion, I just shrugged my shoulders and said OK... It would have been another week if I had wanted a loan car, so I agreed to them collecting it for a day...
Being done on Monday, but to be honest, I give it a 50/50 chance of it being fixed on that day.
Look out for the Tuesday post..

Rear windows are immobilised in a Commercial - just seems weird that something 'straight out of the box' has failed in that manner...
I'd be thinking that it's a case of having one of the rear door cards off to see if the window motor is connected or whether some muppet has started to 'commercialise' your vehicle. That would, in fact, be even weirder as the Commercials are fettled by Special Vehicle Operations off the main line...
Hope you get sorted.D4 Commercial - 65 Plate, 2016MY

Gone back in today...they think it might have something to do with the back windoes
Just an idea
You say when locking makes all the right sounds but when trying doors it appears still unlocked. Question where was your key fob if it is in your pocket car will open as it senses key fob. Put fob well away like indoors then try.
I was caught out by this I did feel like a right plonker.

Car on its way back...All fixed.
Something wrong with a sender unit ?? Which means doors have not been locking since I bought the car a few weeks back which is a bit worrying. We hadnt doticed that due to hands free locking..
So, windows, doors and heating (that hasnt been working either) all fixed.
Fingers crossed....
I would serious be contacting LRCS with a diary of events and demanding recompense - this is appauling from a technical perspective as well as very poor dealer service
But please note: Not all dealers are the same though. I've just had my 2010MY at Shukers of Ludlow for rear suspension work and a few other bits. Only thing I can say it "1st Class!" Their customer service ethos is excellent, I just wish other dealers would take several sheets out of Shukers manual. And no, they are not local to me, I willing travel the 120mile round trip because our more local dealers are and don't give a unless you're a prospective buyer and even then they don't offer any incentives.LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Well, I am just about to pick up the car , they say they have checked the heating, compared against another Disco and there is nothing wrong with it !!!
Basically, hardly any heating comes out unless you turn the heating up to 28..The old Disco 4 that we changed for the new one wasnt like that. You were comfortably warm at 22, very hot at 25 and melting at 28.
Is it the same with anyone elses car? can you set the temp to 25 and it "just" keeps the car warm.
If that is how the new cars are, then I suppose I have to live with it.
Incidently, the Disco Sport they gave me while they looked at my car, the heating was perfect. comfortable at 22, hot at 25, and I never tried 28
I'd take a thermometer when I go fetch the car and ask the stealers to demonstrate that your vehicle's HVAC is behaving the same as another brand new D4 !!!
